      <title>Public Sector HR Network Launched in Africa</title>
      <description>The Africa Public Sector Human Resource Managers' Network was launched during a workshop that was held from February 23-27 in Arusha, Tanzania. The initiative to develop a public sector HR managers' network in Africa was first discussed at the 2007 IPMA-HR International Symposium in Cape Town, South Africa. A small group of participants at that meeting volunteered to work to make the network a reality. The goal of the network is to enhance professionalization of human resource management in the public sector in African nations.</description>

      <title>Training Provided to Iraq HR Leaders</title>
      <description>Through a partnership with the US military, the Association is providing training to HR leaders from the Iraq government. The first session of the training was held in Alexandria, VA for senior HR leaders with the Iraq Ministries of Interior and Defense.  The Developing Competencies for HR Success training program was successfully completed and all of the participants have been awarded with their IPMA Certified Professional (IPMA-CP) designations. The primary trainers for the program were Richard Heil, IPMA-CP and Fagan Stackhouse, IPMA-CP.</description>
